While visiting New York from Egypt, Mark, a 32-year-old Christian Orthodox, decides to lose his virginity, confronting all the cultural and religious restrictions that formed his character. After an unsuccessful blind date, Mark is convinced by his friends to look for something other than a soul mate. Their solution? A sex worker. Eventually, Mark decides to go. Knowing that it will be his first time, Mark decides to use a pill to prevent premature ejaculation. En route to the brothel in a taxi, Mark meets a very conservative Egyptian-Muslim Driver. Feeling the judgment of an omniscient power (and the Driver) Mark suffers a heart attack. The taxi driver freaks out, and takes action to help Mark recover from the incident. Mark insists that the driver continue to his destination. Once they arrive, the Driver realizes it’s a brothel and leaves in disgust. Mark, surrounded by women, could care less about the Driver’s leaving. But, at the climactic moment of his first encounter, Mark’s heart stops beating.
