Luis, a child of a lower income family In Panama city during their impedimentary water crisis, wants to believe there Is hope for a brighter future after hearing the Legend of an ancient spirit that could bring nourishment to the people of a struggling community as long as they believe.
“El Alma de La Sed” Is a student narrative short film that sheds light on the struggles that many people In the lower Income communities of Panama are currently facing, regarding a lack of access to drinkable and clean water. The film follows Luis, a young boy from one of these communities as he sets out to go find water for his family after hearing the story of an ancient spirit who once lead early Panamanians to nourishment, as long as they believed. The film unfolds from the perspective of children to symbolize the power of hope, and how progression occurs when we have faith that we as Individuals can create change.
